Toxia's legend suggests vampires, werewolves, demons, angels, felines, and mystics have always lived among the population of the world but have lived in the shadows, hiding from public view.  Some of these beings came to Toxia fed up living in the shadows, ironicly they came for freedom. A land without government, without fear of being hunted, where everyone is an outcast, a land where they can live out without hiding in the shadows. Some came to enjoy the dark horrors of the town whether it beto witness or participate in immoral acts or are drawn to the pit ; a direct link to hell. Some of the citizens are children of children from the disaster that grew up in this shitty town.  Some are thrill seekers to see if the story is true.  Some heard the story and came because of scientific interest.  Everyone who came had some reason or another, but yet there is constant conflict between all the different individuals, all trying to live and survive.

Toxia has its own mythos obviously, an does not follow any other RPG, such as World of Darkness/ Vampire the Masquerade, BUT does not close the door on these beliefs.  Someones vampire clan roots may be considered their religion, culture or belief system.  Not necessarily the facts.  This helps players that are use to role playing a certain way. Their belief system is not shunned,, it just may not be accepted by everyone.

:Humans:
- Primary Definition: Homo Sapiens

Humans - Victims? Vigilantes? Outlaws? Food? Humans in Toxian City have no magical powers, mutations, or implants. The majority of our humans are tough as nails though, they have to be to survive these streets. Some coming from military backgrounds, martial arts backgrounds, or just from the harsh mean streets of the toughest cities. Some may be running from the law, came to check out the legends, accidentally ran across Toxia, or perhaps even grew up here. Less skilled Humans may have protectors, or have bargained their protection in exchange for other things.

Using mostly make shift weapons, swords, knives, and guns as protection. You may run across the occasional human that has managed to get their hands on something enchanted and been trained to use it's powers. But for the most part, if they get their hands on one, the enchantments have no effect.

:Vampires:
- Primary Definition: Blood Consumer

The old man leans forward to poke the fire as he grumbles.

His raspy, dried voice is dead serious. “Vampires? Now why would you kids want to know about something as god-forsaken as them? Yeah sure, I’ve seen ‘em, sure as yer lookin at me right now.”

He takes a moment to fumble with shaky hands to lift a cigarette to his lips, then struggles with his matchbook with old callused fingers. His face is illuminated by the flare as it finally lights, revealing a grizzled face with scars for a flash, followed by the aroma of tobacco smoke.

"Vampires.. so many myths bout them creatures. Yeah I seen ‘em first hand, like I said.. there were hundreds of them have gathered there, in that Toxian City. Out here in the real world, yeah we got ‘em.. you never see ‘em though. ‘Parently it’s against their laws or whatever to reveal they are vampires, if they do, their elder council will hunt ‘em down killing ‘em and anyone they told. Makes sense though, I s’pose.. can’t have the humans creatin’ mass hysteria, huntings and killings would run rampant on both sides. So, they go to that Toxian City so they don't have to hide, so they don't have to answer to that council of theirs. Hell, they are so bold you might be in the bar and see them feeding off someone in the corner, ain’t nowhere to hide in that god forsaken place. "

"Not all of ‘em gets along neither. See, there's this group of ‘em that calls themselves the Reckoning, ain't nothing but vampires in that group. Some new vampire society, they claim, joining all different clans under one house to become one big super power. Well, there’s a few vampires want no part of that, some believe in the old ways, some feel its just another council dictating how they should be, well they all got their reasons. Those few either become loners or join up with one of those other groups. The Reckoning don't like that too much, I s’pose, considerin’ its some sorta betrayal or something.”

"Either way, they are all blood suckers.. they’ll feed off just about anything in the city, you got blood, those vampires will take it, hell they even feed off each other sometimes, crazy shit I tell you. Don't matter where either, they will dig those fangs of theirs in just about any place on your body where there's a thick vein. "

"Fangs? Oh yeah, they have fangs, some of ‘em even got pointy ears. They ain't just pale neither, some of them look like you or me, some have black and grey skin, some are pale as ghosts. No wings or tails though, and no they don't go turnin’ into bats .. that's just in the movies."

"Protect yourself? Well, damn garlic don't work for sure, nor will a crucifix, hell they wear crucifixes. You don't need to drive no damn wooden stake through their heart neither, if your quick enough with a sword or gun, that'll slow them down, at least enough to get away, but you gotta be quick. But be careful, some of them are much stronger than others, probably best to just run if they are after you.. but would you kids be needin’ to worry bout all that anyways?”

:Angels:

Taking a rest, the young woman sits on the cool dirty sidewalk in front of the library, carefully inching as close to the wall as possible to hide in the dim shadows of the towering building. She scans over her surroundings making sure no one was paying attention to her as her body then relaxes and she takes a deep breath in. Spotting the stripper on stage through the dirty glass windows of the bar across the street staring at her blankly, until she notices a flutter after the dancer does a move. Her eyes leer at the girl momentarily as she digs into her backpack pulling out her journal and a pen. Opening the book and shaking the pen furiously trying to get it to write she looks up at the woman once more before she begins to write...

"You know they say seeing is believing, but I don't know what to believe anymore. With mama and daddy being so Christian like, so strict, I was willing to take into account just about any religion out there could possibly be true, or that there was no god, but I never in my wildest dreams thought it would be like this. Is this the beginning to the end, is this ground zero for the war between good and evil?"

She sits back going into deep thought still watching the Angel strip on stage until she slowly drifts off to sleep.

Inherently good, these powerful beings are SAID to be the servants of God himself, a pure positive energy created in a physical form. Each seeming to have their own assigned purpose whether it is guardianship, messenger, teacher, warrior, or to perform specific tasks either in the divine or on the Earth. Capable of tapping into a pure untainted energy by means of prayer for self preservation, the protection of others, or to assist them with reaching certain goals. These are free thinking entities with more knowledge of the divine than man, but not omniscient. Having varying degrees of personality traits, emotions and social skills, or lack there of, reflecting their purpose; their reason for their existence. Given an overabundance of the traits they need to perform their assigned tasks, but sometimes lacking in others; some lacking empathy, some consumed by it.

Angels look quite Human with the exception of large feathery wings protruding from their back sometimes with a beautiful glow covering their entire or parts of their body. They may float a foot off the ground, or walk along aside you. They say the white winged angels are following their destiny and performing their assigned tasks as they see fit, need to, or are told to. There are Angels with spots of gray and black in their wings, its said those Angels usually have deviated from their goal. Then there's the fallen angels, ones to have said turned their back on GOD whether in disagreement or for self serving purposes, these angels tend to have dark gray or black wings some say from the lack of gods light, some say from punishment, some say from the sin that fills them. Fallen Angels still carry the overabundance of tools given to them to perform their tasks and are highly skilled in those areas, not evil, but may seem to be if they lack empathy.

Most find Angels to be one of the most intriguing entities whether it is because this may be a true sign that there is a divine, how amazingly talented they are in the skills they have been given, or their personality traits that reflect their assigned task. Either way they are dangerous.

:Mutants:
- Primary Definition: Creatures with Abnormal VISIBLE mutations

In order to play a mutant you must be one of the races we already have mutated. This is not a catch all for races we don't have. This race has the potential for a wide variations in your avatars appearance. For example: a two-headed werewolf, a human that has a reptilian leg and green skin, a mad scientist with an extremely large forehead to hold his giant mutated brain. Animals cannot survive in Toxia so mutations are limited to overgrowth or under growth of the normal anatomies of the species we have OR of a species that could live in a hostile environment. extending to let mutations from insects, reptiles, amphibians, and sealike creatures (Crustatiosn, crab like arms, tenticles). Mutants do not have any fantasy creature parts such as unicorn horns, fairy wings, dragon parts, or anything simliar in nature. Due to the wide variety that this race encompases, each avatar will be reviewed on an individual bases by GM's to make sure it is acceptable. If your mutant idea seems to be borderline or you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact a GM.

:Werewolves:
- Primary Definition:

A werewolf or werewolf, also known as a lycanthrope (from the Greek λυκάνθρωπος: λύκος, lukos, "wolf", and άνθρωπος, anthrōpos, man), is a mythological or folkloric human with the ability to shapeshift into a wolf or an anthropomorphic wolf-like creature, either purposely, by being bitten or scratched by another werewolf, or after being placed under a curse. This transformation is often associated with the appearance of the full moon, as popularly noted by the medieval chronicler Gervase of Tilbury, and perhaps in earlier times among the ancient Greeks through the writings of Petronius. Werewolves are often attributed super-human strength and senses, far beyond those of both wolves or men.
